 when applying for Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at University of British Columbia , you will be given several personal statement essays to  write and believe me, this majorly contributes to your scholarship chances.this is because , this seems to be the only way the scholarship committee gets to know your potentials and be able to come up with a decision.

      Whenever the thoughts of discussing about a topic that reflects on what gives me insight about whom I am comes up, the first thing that I consider is my life as a senior prefect.

     It was never an easy deal to control hundreds of students but I was able to do this at ease. This is a sign that I am a triton among students from basically wealthy families,but they know that I am from a poor family.

      It was a herculean task.I had to devise numerous strategies to be able to cope with everyone around me. I was leading an exemplary leadership . This is the major way for me to thrive in such an exalted position.Each time I map out a general function, I will personally put myself in the shoes of junior students and carry out the function alongside they and myself.

      As a senior prefect, I used to involved in sanitation and labour.I used to do cleaning , sweep the class ,never failed to attend and conduct morning assemblies in time,Being a senior prefect, I dress properly always with my shirt stocked in. Though i had no pressing iron, I improvised traditional means of keeping my uniform in order.Most of the things I was doing as a school functionary,i was doing them because I was not the type of leader who would push students out to work under the hazy sun and cross his legs on the table.I was always ready to lead by example and make my co-functionaries borrow a leaf from me.

      Exemplary leadership I believe,is the efficient way by which a leader calls his cabinet to order otherwise, they see your instructions as an affront since you are all of the same class.I used this strategy and it worked for me.My co-functionaries started working because I was doing it.This is true leadership.

    As a senior prefect, I decried the idea of administering severe punishment as a way of calling miscreants to order.it is bullying to me.a good leader ought to be magnanimous.

      To cut it short, I would say that my experience as a senior prefect played a perfect role in proving to me that I was built to become a true leader.Little wonders the school awarded me best senior prefect of all times.

      It was really a memorable experience that gave me real insight of the real person that I am
